Chest & Back and Ab Ripper X…..288 push-ups, 50 pull-ups and 360 ab exercises. How’s that for short and sweet?
Okay, so, like, it’s 108 degrees here today. Not exactly the brightest time to go for a bicycle ride, but I did just that. It was only 12 miles, but man was it toasty! AND I went right in the middle of the day. If I go cycling tomorrow, it will be very early or late.

Rest Day or X Stretch…..Come on people, you know it’s gonna be a XS day, no breaks here. On to week 2 tomorrow!
7:00AM bicycle ride…..17.5 miles at 15.2 average MPH and a maximum speed of 25.5. Pretty nasty southbound head wind and not enough water.
Duh, why would you think that while riding in the desert, in the summer, that you would need a lot of water? Anyway, I took on the asphalt jungle that is Vegas and was happy with the results.

Day 5 (Friday) Legs & Back and Ab Ripper X…..I wasn’t in the greatest of moods today, but I still “pushed play” and got my workout done. I did 87 pull-ups (reverse grip, wide front, closed grip overhand and switch grip). I really concentrated on having good form for my leg exercises, so I anticipate being a little sore tomorrow. I also did 364 ARX exercises.
I went for a bicycle ride this morning with Lana. Although we went in the morning, it was already hot here in Vegas, but any ride is a good ride.
Day 6 (Saturday) Kenpo X…..As expected, I have sore legs from yesterday.
Tony Horton’s right, you’re movin’ and groovin’ and the (KX) workout is over before you realize it. I was fortunate enough to workout with (Beachbody CEO) Carl Daikeler in WOWY (Work Out With You). For those of you who don’t know, WOWY is Beachbody’s online super gym, where you can workout with people across the country, who are working out the same time you are AND it’s FREE! If you’re interested, ask me about it.
I ran my errands on my bicycle this afternoon. I went to the bank, the post office and the grocery store in 101 degree weather, good times!

Day 3 (Wednesday) Shoulders & Arms (including the bonus round) and Ab Ripper X…..Blah, blah, blah arms burning. Blah, blah, blah abs on fire. Just kiddin’, y’all know I love this stuff, just not much to say about the workout. Lana and I did our best and forgot the rest (as Tony Horton says). My ARX count was 364 today.
Day 4 (Thursday) Plyometrics (including the bonus round)…..Lana and I did this workout with our “Fit Club”. Normally Thursday is Yoga X, but I switched the two days because we had the group coming in for the workout. And people say that I’m not a flexible guy.
ANYWAY, it was a great workout. Lana and I really enjoyed showing the group how to perform the moves. Everyone got nice and sweaty. We all brought it!

Yoga X…..I was supposed to do Plyometrics today, but I’m doing Plyo. with a fitness group Thursday night, so I switched the two around. My chest isn’t as sore today as I thought it would be (from yesterday’s workout). After doing Ab Ripper X yesterday, the Yoga Belly 7 ain’t no joke. YX is getting to be more enjoyable, but those 1st 50 minutes (or so) are still pretty killer.
I went on a 17+ mile (night) bicycle ride with Lana. It was fairly windy and very hilly. Our legs were on fire, but we pushed through the pain to attain the gain.

Chest & Back and Ab Ripper X…..I’M BACK! Yes, boys and girls, I’m back, with a vengeance. As you know, I just completed round 1 yesterday (Sunday) and now I’m back for MORE! To me, P90X is like an addiction, once it’s in your system, you can’t go without it. If you followed me in round 1, you know I didn’t take any rest days. I at least did X Stretch on Sundays, so I figured that I should just roll right into round 2 without a break.
Today was my old friend Chest & Back. I already know my chest will be hurtin’ tomorrow. I did 276 push-ups (standard, military, wide fly, decline, diamond and dive-bomber). I also did 44 pull-ups (wide front, reverse grip and closed grip overhand). To top it off, I did 360 ARX exercises.
What can I say, I love this stuff! Thank you all for following me. If you have ANY questions about P90X or any other Beachbody product, please contact me. I’m here to help with what I know. I’m glad to have you with me on my journey to better fitness.

Okay, kids, here are the photos you’ve all been waiting for.
Just kidding, I just sounded quite full-o-myself. In the front view, I have to apologize for the “Casper The Friendly Ghost” imitation. I will be posting my progress from week 1 to week 13, as in increase in pull-ups, etc. I am planning on starting round 2 of P90X tomorrow (Monday 22nd). I’ll be calling it “Reloaded”. I have to give props to Jason C. for that term.

Day 89 (Friday) Core Synergistics…..This is really good stuff. I did the bonus round also. CS really works your “trunk”, arm pits to knees.
I ran some errands on the bicycle today, nothing exciting.
Day 90 (Saturday) Yoga X…..YES!!!!! I DID IT!!! Did I mention it’s Day 90? Yes people, that’s the big 9-0. Round 1 is complete! Stay tuned, “after” pictures coming tomorrow.
I went on a pretty hot, windy and uphill bicycle ride with Lana today. Her bike “Rhoda” got a flat on the return trip. We didn’t have any tubes for her bike so I rode back to get my car and came back.
Sorry I don’t have much today, I’m just thrilled to have completed my 1st round of P90X. Like I said, it’s picture time tomorrow and I will be posting them, so stay tuned.

Day 85 (Monday) Yoga X…..Day 1 of my final Recovery Week. I am really looking forward to taking (and posting) my “after” photo. I will be doing the photo this coming Sunday. Back to YX, ya just gotta love that Yoga Belly 7. No, really, you do. If it wasn’t for the YB7, I wouldn’t be doing abs this week, and that would be bad. I’ve gotten so addicted to the P90X fitness program, I feel like I have to be doing something towards my fitness goal every single day. I have to admit, Recovery Weeks are tough for me. I feel like I’m not doing anything if I’m not lifting weights. I’m supposed to take a week off in between rounds of P90X, but I don’t know if I can.
I took the bicycle to run some errands.
Day 86 (Tuesday) Core Synergistics…..I (of course) did the bonus round too. OMG, what a workout! I only get to do CS during my recovery weeks, so I’ve only done this 3 of the 13 weeks.
Day 87 (Wednesday) Kenpo X…..It’s been 13 weeks of KX, what more can I say about it?
Day 88 (Thursday) X Stretch…..Not to be redundant, but it’s been 13 weeks of XS, what more can I say about it? Sorry, man, I guess I have writer’s block today.
