Celebs Who Use P90X

There’s been quite a “buzz” lately surrounding Beachbody products, more specifically P90X!  The reason for this growing interest?  Not only are celebrities using P90X, but they are raving about it to the media and showing off their amazing results!

Do you want to know what Brave fell for an infomercial? Read on about Matt Diaz and  his offseason weight loss.

Matt Diaz lost 30 pounds this offseason.

Q. How did you lose 30 pounds this offseason?

A. I hate to admit it, but I did an infomercial. … My wife ordered P90X. I saw her doing her leg workout, and it was similar to stuff I did in rehab. I thought that’d be a good way to ease my way back into weightlifting. After a week you realize there’s no easing into that workout.

Q. You watch videos as you work out?

A. They send you 12 videos with 12 different workouts and a diet plan. If you want it, it gives you recipes for every meal, six meals a day …. We moved our kids upstairs out of the nursery and changed the nursery into a P90X room. We got a pull-up bar and dumbbells. … I’d do a P90X workout with my wife in the morning, a baseball workout in the afternoon and go jogging with my wife in the evening while dinner was crock-potting.

I’m sure, as word gets out I will be sharing more stories about celebrities who live the Beachbody lifestyle and are getting incredible results with fitness programs like P90X.

This is part of an article from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Ray Lewis gives credit to his new fitness routine.

For Lewis, who recently expressed disappointment that the Pro Bowl won’t be in Hawaii next year, the game is “always special.” He loves everything about spending a week in the islands with family and friends. He especially loves being part of an ultra-elite group of players.

“When you find yourself over here, you always greatly appreciate it because it’s (an indication) of people really watching you saying, ‘Wow! He’s still there and still doing great things,’” Lewis said. “So it’s always a great honor.”

Lewis, 33, and Gonzalez, who turns 33 later this month, take exceptionally good care of themselves. They also know they’ve been fortunate to be healthy enough at the end of each season to play in the Pro Bowl. In most cases, players who don’t participate usually are recovering from an injury.

Lewis, who played a vital role in helping the Ravens reach the AFC Championship Game, said he has never felt better physically in 13 NFL seasons. He largely credits that to changing his approach to physical conditioning during every offseason. Lewis’ theory: If you do the same thing, you’ll get the same results.

Lewis’ newest routine includes a program called P90X, which operates on the principle of “muscle confusion.” The concept is to constantly introduce the body to new movements and exercises so it won’t plateau.

“I just incorporated it in a lot of different places in my workouts, and it’s given me the challenge that I needed,” Lewis said. “Greatness is not just one big thing — it’s a lot of small things done well. So whether it’s Tony working out the way he’s always worked out or he’s catching a number of passes he catches each day, or whether it’s me sitting down for film study for hours and hours and hours, whether it’s the crazy workouts, these are the things you can look back on in your career (as reasons for individual success).”

POPPY MONTGOMERY

“I ate with no guilt!” actress Poppy Montgomery told PEOPLE about indulging in treats like Häagen-Dazs Dulce de Leche ice cream during her pregnancy with son Jackson Phillip Deveraux, who turned 1 on Dec. 23. To get back in camera-ready shape, the Without a Trace star signed up for meal-delivery service Sunfare and exercised at home six days a week with the P90X total-body workout DVD. “It was hard, but worth it,” she said.

david_akersNFL kicker, Akers turns to P90X

Philadelphia Inquirer

In one season, Akers has gone from 2 for 10 from 40-plus yards to 7 for 11, a dramatic improvement.

Akers attributes his resurgence to an infomercial. Honest. The night before the Eagles played at Dallas last December, Akers saw an infomercial about a workout program called P90X, guaranteed to transform your body in 90 days through a rigorous training system that requires one hour a day.

Akers, a left-footed kicker, thought the program might solve a physical problem he was having with his right hip – the result, he believes, of a torn hamstring he suffered in 2005. It had become painful to plant his right leg before kicking.

“My hip was hurting,” he said. “I wanted to lose weight and balance my body.”

Akers spoke to Eagles trainer Rick Burkholder about the program, and Burkholder said that running back Ryan Moats had tried it. Akers went ahead with it during the off-season, shed 20 pounds – he’s down to 180 – and reduced his body fat by 30 percent.

“After I tore my hamstring I never really regained the true flexibility in my right leg, and a lot of the power comes from your plant leg,” he said. “I regained the flexibility, and I’d never before realized I needed to lose weight. I’d been 200 pounds. Now, I haven’t been this light since my freshman year at Louisville.

“Believe it or not, I saw it on an infomercial.”

Akers looks back on the early-season misses and said the one he’d really like to have back is the one against Washington.
